Claudette Colbert in The Sign of the Cross | 1932

We love Old Hollywood, but we think you knew that. Obviously. lol... One of our favorite actresses is Claudette Colbert! Movies like "It Happened One Night" or "Cleopatra" drew us in.  Did you know her real name she was born with was Emilie Chauchoinin! That's a mouthful but very regal and pretty, non?

Claudette Colbert as Cleopatra (1934).

She was born in Saint-Mande, France on September 13, 1903 and raised in New York City. One of our favorite films, was "It Happened One Night" which also starred the gorgeous Clark Gable! faint..le sigh...what a gorgeous man. The story is about a spoiled heiress, Ellie, who is running away from her family and is helped by a man, Peter Warne, who is actually a reporter looking for a story...of course that would be Clark Gable. Yum. Claudette won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in this movie. In 1938, she was the highest paid star in Hollywood with a salary of $426,924!!!

We're so enamored with her we named one of our "Rich and Famous" Lipsticks after her. Coy Claudette in Cranberry. You have to admit she was gorgeous & so talented. We ❤  you Claudette!  These photos are pure heaven.
