the great gatsby & blogilates....

I'm totally so excited to see the movie "The Great Gatsby" peeps!! Aren't you? The costumes are just  amazing...what a visual feast I'm sure it will be.

In case you don't know about The Great Gatsby it's a novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story takes place in 1922, during the Roaring Twenties, a time of prosperity in the United States after World War I. The book received critical acclaim and is generally considered Fitzgerald's magnum opus. It is also widely regarded as a "Great American Novel" and a literary classic, capturing the essence of an era. The Modern Library named it the second best English language novel of the 20th century. Gatsby has been adapted numerous times, in various media. An early draft of the novel is now available as Trimalchio: An Early Version of "The Great Gatsby".

Now, on to some eye candy galore from the new movie....
and I don't just mean Leo. Well, maybe I do.*wink wink*

And, finally we come to Blogilates. I just discovered this recently and I'm desperately trying to keep up with this peppy gal, Daisy, below. She has sooo much energy and is adorable. I highly recommend you check out her site and start doing blogilates. I've only done a few work outs but I'm loving it. Here's one of her Great Gatsby themed workouts....so fun!

You are the first of my friends who is not complaining about the music being too modern or the costumes being a blend of too many years and not accurate enough. All those things do bother me, but I still wish to see it and enjoy it for what it promises to be... a fun ride.

  3. Oh gosh, no, I love the music. It just seems to me that that's what the writers/producers were going for...a mix of vintage and modern. I love it. That's pretty much me...vintage and modern. lol...

I do agree it's nice to have a movie that's really accurate but of course people always want to play around with a story, make it theirs, try new twists to see if they can create something new or better...I didn't expect it to be too accurate but just like you said...a fun ride! Haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. It makes me want to go out & get a pretty fun flapper dress and a long strand of pearls to play dress up. *wink*

What a great concept and I can't wait to click over and see what it's all about! I hope you're getting my comments of late ... with the new format I add my name and when I hit publish it seems like it spins and spins and I never know if you really get it, so just let me know if you don't! I'd hate to think that you didn't know I was stopping by to say hello! Have a wonderful new week, Regina! ~S.
